Sick Children

  • Children with the following symptoms should not be brought to care for the day, or may be asked to leave:

1.  Temperature of 100 degrees or higher

2.  Diarrhea

3.  Vomiting

4.  Severe Coughing

5.  Sore throat, difficulty swallowing

6.  Difficulty breathing or rapid breathing

7.  Yellowish skin or eyes

8.  Eye redness, discharge, itching or burning

9.  Skin rashes

10.  Unusual colored stool or urine

11.  Stiff neck

12.  Untreated lice

  • Parents will be notified if any of the above symptoms are present, and may be asked to pick the child up.  We are always most concerned that whatever the illness might be developing is not spread to other children or staff.  Illmess can often run rampant in a center due to children attending when they should be kept at home.  We urge parents to consider the likelihood of spreading an illness when making decisions about whether to bring their child in for the day.

Tuition

  • Full tuition is due each week, unless your child is absent for an entire week.
  • During a week of absence, half of your regular tuition is required prior to leaving for the break.
  • During a week that may include a holiday, full tuition is still due, with no reduction for the holiday.

Children's Required Paperwork

The state of Ohio requires parents to prepare and maintain paperwork for the child.  An enrollment agreement must be completed prior to the child's first day.  Children must have a medical statement on file.  The form to be completed is JFS 01305.  No other forms will be accepted.  This form has 3 significant bullet points on which your doctor must sign off.  Simply providing an immunization record is not what LGLC needs in order to be compliant.  These medical statements need updated yearly, until the child attends Kindergarten.  Failure to provide the required documentation may result in disruption of care, as your child is not allowed to attend without these on file.

Pick Up and Drop Off

Children should be accompanied by a parent into the center and then into the classroom.  Parents should ascertain taht the child's teacher has signed them in, and provide any information needed for the day.  At pick up, a parent must come into the center, and allow the teacher to sign that child out.  Children are not allowed to leave the center without an adult to accompany them.

Fire Lane

The lane directly in front of the building is designated by the City of Kent as a fire lane.  Parking is prohibited in this lane.  Parents should use the parking spaces provided.  In the event the lot is full, auxiliary parking is available in the front of the building, by the fountain.
